What is PPxTM Therapy?
Photopneumatic Therapy is a breakthrough aesthetic treatment therapy that offers highly effective, no-pain treaments that are 4 to 5 times safer than other treatments.
How it works:
PPxTM therapy's patented process combines the unique properties of therapeutic light with pressure (pneumatic energy) to bring you a breatkthrough method for the treatment of unwanted hair, uneven pigment and unwanted veins.
A “pulling up†motion gently lifts a small amount of the treatment area into a specially designed hygienic treatment tip. Targets (unwanted hair, unwanted pigments and unsightly veins) are lifted and brought closer to the skin’s surface. When therapeutic light is applied, the light is converted to a gentle heat energy which is absorbed by the target (unwanted hair, unwanted pigments and unsightly veins). The energy applied is concentrated in the target to be destroyed, protecting the surrounding normal tissue. Skin is then instantly returned to its normal position and the treatment handpiece is moved onto the next treatment area. The process is repeated until the entire treatment area is covered.
How does PPx TM skin treatment feel?
PpxTM skin treatment is very comfortable. Before you begin, a mist will be applied to your skin to cool it. You will then feel a gentle and warm sensation as your skin is drawn into the treatment tip. A very gentle light energy will be applied to the area, immediately after which you will feel your skin being gently released and the provider will move to the next adjacent area of skin to be treated. Patients describe the sensation as being similar to that of a warm massage.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments depends on the condition being treated. For example, facial skin rejuvenation may require 5 treatments at 3 week intervals and hair removal may require 6 treatments at 6-8 week intervals. Our physician will give you specifics on the number of treatments as they relate to your condition during your initial consultation.
