Meet Dr. Morris
If you are considering any type of surgical or non-surgical plastic surgery procedure, it is more important than ever to choose your surgeon and his team carefully. Your surgeon's qualifications are critically important in making this decision. You also need to know the personal qualities of the surgeon who will be operating on you.
At the age of 19, Dr. Morris entered medical school at Texas A&M University College of Medicine. After graduating 4 years later, he completed residencies in both general surgery and plastic surgery at the world famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. At Mayo Clinic he was chief resident in both general surgery and plastic surgery. He has been in practice in Michigan for over 17 years, the last ten plus of which, have been devoted exclusively to aesthetic surgery (and breast reconstruction).
He is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of numerous medical organizations and societies. He is on the advisory board for understandplasticsurgery.com and is frequently interviewed by local and national media about cosmetic surgery topics.
He has been an invited participant at the Allergan Aesthetic Leadership Forum (the company that makes Botox®, Juvederm®, and Natrelle® breast implants).
He is one of only 53 plastic surgeons in the nation who are able to offer the Inamed (Allergan / Natrelle) Style 410 cohesive gel breast implant for breast augmentation. He is the only surgeon in Michigan outside of Grand Rapids who may use this implant.
He is director of cosmetic surgery at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland and was the developer of the cosmetic surgery unit at that facility.
Dr. Morris constantly stays up-to-date with the latest procedures and technology but does not “jump on the bandwagon†before a treatment or procedure has been proven safe and effective. He also does not use technology solely as a marketing tool – there are many technologies that sound great and fancy but are no better (only more expensive and quite often riskier) that more traditional techniques.
Dr. Morris heads a team of friendly, helpful professionals who are dedicated to state-of-the-art care to enhance your natural beauty. We specialize in aesthetic surgery and related procedures.
Dr Morris has carefully selected his staff for their friendly personalities, genuine concern for his patients, and most importantly, their level of excellence in delivering quality care and a quality experience for you. Every member of our team is dedicated to helping you gather the information you need to make the best possible decision for yourself.
Permanent Hair Removal/Reduction
Unwanted or excessive body hair affects both women and men. Women often experience it on the face, the legs, under the arms or in the bikini area. For men, the problem areas are typically the back, chest or face.
The LightSheerâ„¢ diode laser is the state-of-the art hair removal system to help patients eliminate unwanted hair as safely, painlessly, and most permanently as possible.
The LightSheerâ„¢ gently cools the surface of the skin while pulses of light are selectively absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles lying deeper in the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair structures, which damages the existing hair and destroys the regrowth potential of the follicle - all without damaging the surrounding normal tissue. The end result is significant and permanent hair reduction in most cases. The laser has been used successfully around the world to help people with all types of hair and on most types of skin.
Hair Can Be a Problem to Remove
When hair grows where you don't want it to, it's a problem. It is unsightly, embarrassing and very inconvenient to remove with traditional methods such as tweezing, waxing or using depilatory creams. When one looks at the long term cost, many of these methods are more expensive than laser hair removal, in addition to being more of an inconvenience.
Like any long-term hair removal treatment, the diode laser can only remove hair that is in its growth phase at the time of treatment. Individual hairs enter into their growth phase at different times. Therefore, in order to assure removal of as many of the unwanted hairs as possible, we schedule a series of treatments spaced one to three months apart, depending on the location treated. Usually three treatments will yield the best result.
Imagine reducing your time spent shaving or tweezing hair, and what a positive and productive impact this can have on your life.
In contrast to what others may say we readily admit that this procedure will not completely eliminate every single hair in the area being treated - some individuals are this fortunate, but most are not. For this reason, and because we are committed to delivering the highest quality service and an outstanding value we offer our "Hair Free For Life" program. If you book a series of 3 treatments (the best way to assure optimal results) we will perform touch-ups in the future at a very minimal cost. Call for complete details.
A typical session takes from 5 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the body area being treated. We will provide you with details about your treatment and prepare a plan that is individualized for you.
