Understanding the stages of a Hair Follicle
Stages of hair growth.There are three stages of growth: anagen, catagen, and telogen.
Anagen Phase - During the Anagen phase, hair growth is active and contains an abundance of melanin.
Catagen Phase - This is the regression phase. The lower portion of the hair stops growing but is not shed. The follicle is reabsorbed.
Telogen Phase - This is the resting phase. In this phase, old hair falls out as a preparation for new hair.
Laser treatment maximizes effectiveness during the anagen phase when melanin is abundant. This helps to better explain why usually more than one treatment is necessary. You will require a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 treatments over a 12 –15 month period of time, scheduling once every 3 months.

Understanding Laser Hair Removal Treatment
A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. Different types of lasers produce different colors of light. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling several follicles at a time to eliminate or significantly impede the hair's regrowth.

What you can expect
The length of a laser session may be a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Laser treatment itself may cause a slight tingling sensation. Most patients tolerate the procedure well.

Immediate aftereffects, if any, are minor. They may include redness and swelling, which disappear in a short time.
