Your appointment will begin with an assessment to determine your skin type and skin tolerances using the ChromoTester and the Fitzpatrick Scale. Your extensively-trained registered nurse will conduct the laser hair removal procedure, and will make sure that you fully understand the treatment process and feel comfortable. To begin, a gel is applied, which allows the laser to glide smoothly over the skin. Protective eyewear will be provided. Then, your laser hair removal specialist will glide a hand held laser over the area systematically to ensure there are no missed sections.
The laser works by emitting a light that will only be absorbed by the melanin in hair follicles. The light will cause developed hair follicles to fall out. Not all hair follicles are in the same stage of development at any one time, so follow up visits will be needed to disable the remaining follicles. Typically, five treatments are recommended to achieve optimal results. After each treatment clients should stay out of direct sunlight and avoid skin irritating products.

No. Because Laser Hair Removal is not an invasive procedure, pain medication should not be needed and cannot be prescribed. During the treatment, a topical anesthetic can be applied to treat discomfort.
May I use my own topical anesthetic?
Indigo prefers to use its own topical anesthetic. If you do wish to use your own, bring in the tube with the full description of ingredients for medical evaluation. The topical anesthetic needs to be checked to make sure it will not interfere with the treatment.
Will shaving make the hair grow back thicker and darker?
